What a fantastic team of children! They have been so confident, cheerful and flexible! We toured the school this morning, introducing ourselves in assembly, being sung to in every class room, and running a quick sprint on their new athletics track.
We then headed off to the town centre for our formal greeting from the mayor. We sat around the conference table, nibbling pretzels and chocolates while waiting for the mayor to fit us in to her busy schedule. She spoke very warmly to the children, telling them that they held the keys to looking after our world in the future and encouraging them to live healthy lives - the focus of the whole Comenius project.
This was followed by a visit to the Basilica, before traditional Polish lunch of soup, peroggi and cake! We have now returned to the school where the children have been met by their hosts for an evening of bowling and pizza. They are all so relaxed and enjoying chatting with both the Polish children and the four girls from Scotland.
