From Summer To Winter

Spent all day packing Dougal's suitcase after he and I sorted out all his clothes yesterday (bank holiday Monday).   Well, a bit of an exaggeration, but it felt like an age.   Had just finished it when I received a phone call from Beata, Mike Le Bon's mum, telling me it is -2degrees in Rybnik!   So we've had a grand hunt for waterproof hiking boots, hats, gloves, scarf, jumpers and added them to the t-shirt and shorts (we live in hope!) and have had to switch to a much bigger suitcase.

Dougal has made a really beautiful pottery butter dish to give to his host family complete with the England and Poland flags, the Holy Trinity logo, the date, his name and 'thank you' in Polish.  At least that's what we hope it says!

I am trying not to think about missing him.  This is going to be such an amazing adventure for him.   Luckily lots to keep me busy over the next few days.... including that Year 6 cake sale on Friday.....lots and lots of baking..... Catherine (Dougal's mum)
